5 Methods for Solenoid Valve Blocking
Blockage is the most common fault of solenoid valves. Many causes lead to the blockage of solenoid valve, such as impurities in the flow medium, wrong selection of the solenoid valve model, complex working environment of the solenoid valve. Generally, blockage of solenoid valve can be solved with the following five methods: cleaning, external scouring method, installing the pipe filter, increasing throttling gap, medium scouring method.
Cleaning
Generally, impurities such as welding slag, rust and dreg would lead to the blockage of solenoid valve. Too many impurities would lead to the damage of solenoid valve spool and sealing surface, or scratches on the parts and components. Cleaning means to disassemble the solenoid valve to wash the pipe and valve. The valve shall be retested again after cleaning, so as to ensure it work normally.
External scouring method
External scouring method means to introduce scouring gas and steam at the bottom plug of valve cover. When the solenoid valve is blocked or stuckļ¼open the external gas or steam valve, the valve cleaning can be completed without disassembling it.
Installing the pipe filter
Small diameter solenoid valves, particularly the ultra-small flow regulating valves, have a small throttling gap, so there should be no impurities in the medium. In case of blockage, a filter can be installed upstream the valve, so as to ensure the medium pass smoothly. For a solenoid valve with positioner, if the positioner fails to work normally, its airway throttle may be blocked. Therefore, when a solenoid valve is equipped with a positioner, the gas source must be well treated, and common treatment is to install an air filter pressure relief valve on the pipeline upstream the positioner.
Increasing throttling gap
If the solder particles in the medium or solder slag and rust washed out in the pipeline can not pass through the throttle and cause blockage, throttling elements with larger throttling gap can be replaced, such as the spool or valve sleeve with a throttling area of window or opening. As the throttling area is concentrated rather than circularly distributed, faults can be easily eliminated.
Medium scouring method
The scouring energy of medium is used to scour and take away sediment-prone and blockage-prone things, thus improving the anti-blocking function of valves. Common methods include: Change to flow closed valve; adopt the streamlined valve body; place the throttle at the worst scouring point, and attention should be paid to improving erosion resistance of throttle materials for this method.
