How to Improve Reliability of Solenoid Valves?
Solenoid valves are often used for the switching of water, oil, steam, gas and other media. Solenoid valves are often used to cut off water, oil, steam, gas and other media. Now combined with the application of solenoid valves to share the experience of selection and use of solenoid valves, to help you maximize the life of solenoid valves and improve the reliability of solenoid valves.
1. Understanding the properties of working fluid of solenoid valve
The property of the working fluid determines the type of solenoid valve, so the corresponding solenoid valve should be selected according to the characteristics of the medium, for example, the solenoid valve used for water is different from the one for steam. Fluid properties include: temperature, pressure, viscosity, corrosiveness, etc. For high temperature fluids, it is not possible to use ambient temperature solenoid valves, otherwise its service life will be greatly shortened, and even damaged in serious cases. When the fluid in the pipeline contains impurities such as particles, a diaphragm type solenoid valve should be selected. The solenoid valve allows the viscosity of the liquid to be generally below 20mm2/s. The solenoid valve manufacturer should be consulted when ordering solenoid valves with liquid viscosity larger than 50mm2/s. Generally, solenoid valves require high cleanliness of fluids. When the cleanliness of fluids is not high, filters can be installed in front of solenoid valves.
2. Figure out the pressure and flow rate of the working fluid of the solenoid valve
The rated working pressure of the selected solenoid valve is too high, which will increase the investment. But if the rated working pressure is too low or close to the actual medium pressure, the solenoid valve will cause accidents in the work because of the insufficient strength of the material. In addition to safety issues, the choice of working pressure is also related to whether the solenoid valve can work normally. The working pressure is generally determined by the upper and lower limits of the highest and lowest working pressure. Otherwise, the solenoid valve will not work reliably under the influence of medium pressure.
The flow rate of medium is related to the diameter or seat size of solenoid valve selection. If the diameter of the solenoid valve is too large, it will cause economic waste and increase the installation cost. But there are many problems in the caliber selection, such as restricting the flow through the pipeline, and causing greater pressure loss, which will reduce the control effect of the system, and make the control accuracy of the system decline or out of control. The working pressure difference refers to the pressure difference between the inlet and the outlet of the solenoid valve that can be reliably opened and closed. It is the key to the normal operation of the solenoid valve. It is also the primary consideration when selecting the solenoid valve. It can be selected according to the parameters such as process pipeline conditions and combined with the selection sample of the solenoid valve.
3. Select the proper working power supply
The working power supply of solenoid valve can be divided into direct current and alternating current, so we must pay attention to it when using solenoid valve. Otherwise, the DC solenoid valve is connected to the AC power source, and its electromagnetic attraction is small, which makes it unable to work. If the AC solenoid valve is connected to the DC power supply, the current will be too high to cause the coil temperature to rise and the solenoid valve will burn out. The AC or DC solenoid valve should be correctly chosen, which is consistent with the rated voltage on the nameplate. Whatever the power supply voltage is too high or too low, it will affect the solenoid valve proper working.
4. Determine the working frequency of solenoid valve as required
Operating frequency is the maximum number of actions allowed by solenoid valves in use. It is usually expressed by the number of opening and closing valves per minute. It is determined by the type and structure of the solenoid valve. For example, the direct acting solenoid valve has a fast action time, and its working frequency can be higher. Industrial production includes continuous production, intermittent production and short-term production. If a short-time working solenoid valve is used in continuous production, its service life will be shortened, and even damaged in a short time. Therefore, when choosing solenoid valves, we should make a reasonable choice according to the production situation and the selection samples of solenoid valve manufacturers. If there is no suitable product to choose, only the first gear can be used instead of derating.
5. Pay attention to the application details of solenoid valves
Many solenoid valves can be used in general, so the most economical products should be selected on the basis of meeting the requirements of use. Generally, solenoid valves are not waterproof, so the necessary selection of installation environment should be made. For corrosive media, stainless steel products should be selected. Solenoid valves have two types of normally closed and normally open. Normally closed type is to open when energized, and close when power off; vice versa is normally open, which can be selected according to process requirements and safety.
6. Pay attention to the environmental conditions of the solenoid valve
To make the solenoid valve reliable work, its installation in the field of environmental conditions is also very important. For example, the maximum temperature can not exceed the nameplate of the solenoid valve, and the service life of the solenoid valve will decrease if the temperature is too high. The ambient temperature is too low, which will cause frost in the shell of solenoid valve, and will cause problems such as sealing fillers, so that the solenoid valve can not work properly.
Relative humidity affects electrical insulation, and a humid environment will reduce electrical insulation, affecting the reliability of the solenoid valve. Humidity is too high, and it is easy to cause mold at a certain temperature.
When the environment is dusty, dripping, salty, or corrosive, we should consider their impact on solenoid valves. Good sealing products should be selected, such as waterproof, splash-proof and dust-proof solenoid valves. The explosion-proof solenoid valve should be selected when the environment requires explosion-proof. Vibration-resistant solenoid valve should be selected in the environment with vibration and impact. In addition to the correct selection of solenoid valves for the above environment, certain protective measures should be taken to protect solenoid valves
