How to Install a Solenoid Valve?
The solenoid valve is an industrial equipment for electromagnetic control and an automatic basic element to control liquids. As an actuator, the solenoid valve is not confined to hydraulic and pneumatic control. When applied to the industrial control system, the solenoid valve can be used to adjust the medium direction, flow, speed and other parameters. The solenoid valve can work with different circuits to realize the expected control with the control precision and flexibility ensured.
The following part mainly introduces how to install the solenoid valve.
1. Read the product manual before installation. Check whether the product in line with use requirements. Keep key installation points in mind. Make good preparations for installing.
2. Collate parameters on the nameplate to ensure their consistency with parameters of the chosen product. The power voltage should be within the fluctuating scope of the rated voltage. AC: +10%~ -15% and DC: +10%~ -10%. At ordinary times, the coil modules should not be packed.
3. Before connection of the solenoid valve, wash the pipeline at the pressure of 0.3MPa to remove residues of metal powder and sealing materials, and stains.
4. Pay attention to cleanness of media. If there is dust or impurity in mediums impeding the normal operation of the solenoid valve, the filtering valve with no fewer than 60 filtering sieves should be installed in the pipeline.
5. The solenoid valve should not be installed at the indentation part of the pipeline. Install it in the discharge pipeline. Do not extract it from the bottom of the vessel but install it at the position which is slightly above the vessel bottom.
6. If the medium will cause water hammer, the solenoid valve against water hammer or other precautionary measures should be adopted.
7. The inlet side of the steam solenoid valve should be installed with the drain valve, and the pipe of this part should be inclined.
8. The solenoid valve is directional rather than installed inversely. Generally, the valve body indicates the medium flow direction using the symbol "→". The installation should follow the direction of "→". However, under the condition of the vacuum pipeline or other special conditions, our company might suggest reverse installation.
9. Installation posture: The solenoid valve coils of general solenoid valves should be positioned vertically upward. In terms of pipelines to be vertically installed on the ground, if the pipelines should be installed like the building sewers or installed inversely because of spatial limitations or other special construction requirements, please raise thee requirements upon model selection and ordering. There are special regulations for some products. Please install them according to the manual.
10. As for the solenoid valve connection to pipe, the sealing materials should not be excessively used. In terms of threaded connection as one of connection types of solenoid valve, the connection thread should be maintained within the scope of the valid length and the semi-screw-pitch part of the terminal should use the file for chamfering. Intertwine the sealing belt from the second tooth of the terminal. Otherwise, the excessive sealing tape or binder might enter the internal cavity of the solenoid valve to impede normal actions.
11. Certain space should be left for the solenoid valve during its installation for the convenience of daily and periodical maintenance.
12. Use the wrench or pipe wrench to fix the valve body upon installation. Fasten the pipe. Do not exert force on the solenoid valve coil unit to cause deformation, thus impeding normal operation of the solenoid valve.
13. When the pipe stiffness is inadequate or is found with water hammer, please fix the pipe using the holder before and after the valve installation.
14. If the solenoid valve is used under the frozen environment, the heat-insulating materials should be used to further protect.
15. Confirm whether the connection part of the solenoid valve and between the solenoid valve and the pipe has leakage.
16. Check the connection of the outgoing line of the coil, particularly the occasion in which there are three outgoing lines.
17. Electrical apparatus elements of the solenoid valve, such as the relay, switch and contactor. The contact upon opening of the valve should not vibrate; otherwise, its operation might be unreliable and influence the service life of the solenoid valve.
18. The electric loop should be connected with the corresponding fuse wire as protection of the electric loop.
