Why a Solenoid Valve Does Not Open or Close after Power On?
The solenoid valve may be unable to open or close, after it’s powered
on. Why? Particularly, the solenoid valve that has used for many years
or starts frequently may meet this problem. Faults of the solenoid valve
will directly affect the actions of switching valve and regulating
valve. One of the common faults is that the solenoid valve doesn’t act,
that is, the solenoid valve does not open or close when energized. For
this problem, it shall be checked from the following aspects:
1. For the connection plug or wire lead of the solenoid valve loosens, the solenoid valve is unable to be powered on and then the solenoid valve cannot open or close. Please tighten the connection plug.
2. The solenoid valve coil is burned out. Please disconnect the wires of the solenoid valve and measure it with a multimeter. If it shows an open circuit, then the coil of the solenoid valve is burned out.
The reason may be that the coil is damped and thereof leading to poor insulation and magnetic leakage. As a result, the coil is burned out for large current in the coil, so please prevent rainwater from entering the solenoid valve. Correspondingly, the spring should be hard enough. Too large reaction force, few turns or insufficient suction force may also make the coil to be burned out. In case of emergency, turn the manual button on the coil from the normal working position to position 1, thus opening the valve.
3. The solenoid valve gets stuck. Fit clearance between the slide sleeve buckle and spool of the solenoid valve is quite small (less than 0.008mm), and it’s generally single assembly. When mechanical impurities are introduced or there are few lubricating oil, the solenoid valve is easy to be stuck. By then, a steel wire can be used to insert form its ostiole to return it. The fundamental solution is to remove the solenoid valve, take out the spool and spool sleeve, then clean them with CCI4, so as to ensure the spool can move flexibly in the spool sleeve. When disassembling, please notice the assembly sequence and external wiring position of each component, so as to facilitate the reassembly and correct wiring. It shall also check whether the nozzle is blocked or the lubricating oil is sufficient.
4. The solenoid valve is blown. Blown of solenoid valve will lead to insufficient air pressure and thereof makes it difficult to open and close the forced high-pressure solenoid valve. The reasons may be that the gasket seal is broken or the slide valve wears.
When dealing with faults of solenoid valve in switching system, a proper time shall be selected. The actions shall be carried out when the solenoid valve is powered off. If the fault can’t be solved within a switching interval, it may be easy to close the switching system and then deal with the problem of solenoid valve.
